A few months ago I learned about the bicycle advocacy group 30 Days of Biking. For the past five years they have fostered the love of bicycling with their April pledge. Folks from all around the world commit to riding their bike every day during the month of April and share their experiences through social media. A bike ride can be to work, school, the grocery store, or just around the block.
On March 1st, I was the 267’th person to take the pledge. Since then over 4,000 people have joined in. The super-cool thing is that for every 30 pledges, the group will give a bike to a kid in need through Free Bikes 4 Kidz. That’s a lot of happy kids!
I’ll be sharing my daily ride experience on Instagram and will provide weekly updates here on Iowa Bike Rides. So feel free to follow me, or better yet, join me and take the pledge too!
