Iowa Trails I'm Excited Ride

Anticipating being able to go for a nice long bike ride on a beautiful Iowa trail is what has been keeping me from going stark-raving-wintertime-mad!   I'm excited to ride these Iowa trails for the first time this year:

Wabash Trace Nature Trail

This is Iowa’s longest bike trail. There’s the famous Taco Ride on Thursday nights, beautiful views of the the Loess Hills, and over 70 bridges to pedal over.  I can't wait to ride this limestone trail!

This trail connects Pella to Lake Red Rock.  Getting my fill of Dutch Letters at the Vander Ploeg Bakery, viewing bald eagles below the dam, and stopping by the beach to cool off in the lake sounds like the perfect summer bike ride.

Admiring art installations along the trail, stopping by the  Decorah Trout Hatchery to feed the fish, and visiting downtown Decorah for some great food and unique shopping will be a fantastic weekend excursion.

With views of Iowa prairie, wetlands, and the massive Hoy Bridge this sounds like a great trail for a nature filled bike ride.

Hopefully spring will arrive early this year and I can pedal away my wintertime blues out on the bike trial.

Happy Riding!!
